The Group’s Chairman Dr Lui Che-woo, Executive Directors Ms Paddy Lui and Mr Alexander Lui officiated at the eye-dotting ceremony of the Group’s Chinese New Year party, followed by a lion dance parade in the office. They also performed the "Picking of the Greens" ceremony, symbolising an auspicious start to the year and prosperous business, while extending New Year blessings to each colleague.

Wah Social Club collaborated with INFLEURENCE Floral Design Atelier to hold a Christmas Handmade Wood Candle Holder Workshop, guiding employees on the techniques of combining floral materials, foliage, and fruits, as well as designing and making Christmas floral arrangements, to create unique Christmas decorations and welcome the festive season! K. KWIH organised “K. Wah Seminar” on the development of China in support of national education

To enable staff members to gain a comprehensive understanding of the nation's economic situation and future development trends, KWIH organised the "K. Wah Seminar" on China's development. The seminar featured Terence Chong, Executive Director of the Lau Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics and Finance and Associate Head of New Asia College, as the guest speaker. Professor Chong analysed China's current economic situation and prospects from various perspectives, with a particular emphasis on the property industry, in which the group specialises. He also discussed Hong Kong's role in the country's economic development. During the Q&A session, participants actively raised questions.

K. Wah Social Club Employee Seminar: "Traditional Chinese Medicine Approach to Treating Insomnia"

K. Wah Social Club invited Wang Yingshi, Assistant Professor of Practice, Chinese Medicine - Clinical Division at the School of Chinese Medicine, HKBU, to explain the concept and causes of insomnia, as well as methods to alleviate it using herbal soups and acupressure. Additionally, K. Wah Social Club distributed floral tea to colleagues as a means to reduce fatigue and promote relaxation of the body and mind.

The K. Wah Social Club held a Natural Hand Cream Workshop, allowing staff members to personally make hand creams without any artificial chemical ingredients. It helps combat the dryness of autumn and provides an extra layer of protection. K. Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

In order to give colleagues the opportunity to express gratitude to those they appreciate, K. Wah Social Club and social enterprise "Time To Gold" jointly organised an "Steamed Glutinous Rice Cake (Cha Kwo) Workshop". Through this event, colleagues had the chance to make Cha Kwo and give them as gifts to special ones. Additionally, the workshop provided a deeper understanding of the cultural origins behind Cha Kwo, as well as traditional Hakka cultural customs and intangible cultural heritage.

The Group’s Chairman Dr Lui Che-woo and Executive Directors, Paddy Lui and Alexander Lui officiated at the eye-dotting ceremony of the Group’s Chinese New Year party.

Dr Lui said, “Stepping into 2023, quarantine-free travel between Hong Kong and mainland China has resumed. It is a piece of good news to everyone! I also feel delighted that the K. Wah Group can flourish over the past year thanks to the dedication and hard work of all our staff. May I wish everyone a blissful and healthy year ahead.”

With the gathering resuming after a three-year absence, staff at KWIH were excited and encouraged. Three lions danced around the office to symbolise the spreading of blessings and luck. Dr Lui and the management also hosted a grand lucky draw and gave out red packets to staff to unveil a prosperous new year together.

K. Wah Social Club: Know more cultivation of health in different seasons

The weather starts getting cold. K. Wah Social Club invited registered Chinese medicine practitioner from Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to share some tips on regimens and diets in different seasons with colleagues, in order to adjust the balance of yin and yang of the human body for better health. K. Wah Social Club also distributed tea bags for colleagues to nourish their bodies and minds.

KWIH DIY perfume workshop

People always say that the sense of smell is most closely related to memories - and staff from KWIH had firsthand experience of making their own scents and fond memories with KWIH's latest DIY perfume workshop! From sweet fruity top notes to elegant musky sandalwood, participants had great fun as they mix and create a new fragrance they simply can't stop wearing.

KWIH pastel art workshop

KWIH organised a pastel painting workshop for colleagues and their families to learn the basics of pastel art. Guided by a Japan Pastel Hope Art Association (JPHAA) certified instructor, participants used simple materials and techniques to create heart-warming works of "Mount Fuji and sakura" and "Outer space and rockets". The therapeutic art goes a long way in reducing stress and cultivating creativity!

KWIH Guangzhou and Dongguan staff enjoyed the annual party

KWIH colleagues in Guangzhou and Dongguan celebrated their achievements at the annual party, where Paddy Lui, Executive Director of KWIH, reviewed the outstanding performance of the company and showed her appreciation for all staff while looking forward to an even brighter 2022. Staff unleashed their talents in The Voice of K. Wah, an exciting singing contest, and dressed up to compete for the Best Dressed Award. A lucky draw was also held to engage everyone and spread joy for the new year.

Staff from KWIH Guangzhou and Dongguan areas conductd team building to relieve work pressure

Our colleagues at the KWIH Guangzhou and Dongguan Regions each went to their own team building events to alleviate some of their work pressure. The Guangzhou Region's session was based on the theme of ""good food"", and the activity was called ""Enjoy Life and Be Independent"". The colleagues were tasked to work together to cook a grand 18-course meal for themselves in two hours. The attendees were divided into four groups with each group having to cook four to five dishes. When they were finished, they were graded by an instructor to see whose dishes were the best. As well as testing their culinary skills, the activity fully showed the teams' trust and ability to cooperate. Finally, everyone sat around the table to get a taste of the great banquet their colleagues had cooked up.

The Dongguan Region had an equally fantastic activity. Under the guidance of a tutor, they were split into teams to experience baking cakes, handbrewing coffee, and making pottery for themselves. On this cheerful evening, the colleagues took a break from their busy work to relax.

As an opening of the annual party, Shanghai colleagues watched a video recapping their 2019 achievements and previewing upcoming projects. Everyone had a fun-filled night with laughter. Meanwhile, colleagues of Guangzhou and Dongguan offices dressed up to compete for the Best Dressed Award, while the singing and dancing performance of trending hits and old classics by staff was of great fun. Advocating work-life balance and a healthy lifestyle, KWIH organizes K. Wah‧Free to Run activity regularly. A group of health-conscious and sporty staff go for a 3km or 5km run after work to train their physical fitness while enjoying breath-taking scenery of the Victoria Harbour at sunset. On 9 March 2017, Alex Lui, Executive Director of KWIH showed his support and cheered for the runners.
 

KWAH demonstrated strong team spirit in "Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2017"

KWAH demonstrated strong team spirit by participating serval dragon boat competitions! This year the Group formed two teams comprising staff from KWIH and SHI with eight K. Wah ladies joining the ""Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2017"" for the first time. Apart from a team competing for men's race, a ""Mixed-gender Team"" was formed to compete with others. The teams delivered outstanding performance and captured a Merit Award in the Men's B Bronze Cup Final.

With high morale, KWCM team triumphed over the other competitors and took home a champion title in ""2017 Sai Kung District Dragon Boat Racing Gala""! A mixed-gender elite team was also sent on field to complete in ""Tai Po District Dragon Boat Race 2017"".

GEG received 3 awards in ""Macau International Dragon Boat Race"" on 27 & 28 May, ""Galaxy Elegance"" won the first runner up in Macau Small Dragon Boat Race 200m. ""Galaxy Universe"" achieved second runner up in Macau Small Dragon Boat Race - Men's Category 200m. While ""Galaxy Pearl"" competed with strong rivals and won the second runner up in the Macau Standard Dragon Boat Race - Women Category 500m.

KWIH Shanghai staff embarked on an outward bound training at Meigu Village beneath Wuyi Mountain in Fujian

160 KWIH Shanghai staff embarked on an outward bound training at Meigu Village beneath Wuyi Mountain in Fujian. The training aimed at enhancing staff abilities in coordination, communication, cooperation, innovation together with goal and time management so that they were undaunted to take challenges and could grow with the team.
The participants were required to complete various tasks in teams at designated locations within a set time frame. Such tasks included the learning of local dialects and customs; the design and production of a creative K. Wah video commercial covering its products, philosophy and corporate culture. When the tasks were completed with collective wisdom and tireless efforts, the members came to appreciate that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts in team work and hence the importance of team collaboration.
 

KWCM organized football matches with HSBC and Chun Wo

On 29 April and 27 May 2016, KWCM organized friendly football matches with HSBC and Chun Wo respectively at the Jockey Club Kitchee Centre. Demonstrating the spirit of "friendship comes first, competition the second", the teams had a wonderful time. Friendly matches not only help build up good relationships with business partners, but also promote exercising during off-duty hours, develop good team spirit and establish a harmonious working relationship among colleagues.

KWCM Social Club invited Ms Irene Chan, a famous cookery blogger and an amateur cooking tutor, to host a "Rice Dumplings Making Workshop" for KWCM colleagues on 1 June 2016. Staff members learnt the skills of wrapping perfect rice dumplings, a traditional food of Tuen Ng Festival. What a fun and festive activity!

Food and Wine Pairing Workshop is one of the most popular activities in KWCM. In view of this, KWCM Social Club organized a Food and Wine Pairing Workshop II on 3 June 2016, so that more staff members can learn basic pairing skills between various kinds of wine and food, and appreciate culinary delicacy around the world.

K. Wah Group formed a dragon boat team to take part in the annual "Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2016" held at Stanley Main Beach on 9 June, aiming to encourage staff to embrace regular exercise as a choice in leading a healthy lifestyle, enhance workplace cohesion and create a harmonious and delightful work atmosphere. The Group also welcomed participation of family members and friends of its staff to celebrate the fun-filled Dragon Boat Festival together.
 

KWIH ShangHai held a 3-day training for senior management personnel

A 3-day training for senior management personnel of KWIH was held earlier in Shanghai, with 35 senior officers from the Hong Kong headquarters, Guangzhou office and Shanghai office participating. Tailored for K. Wah participants by Antai College of Economics & Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the session was aimed at enhancing the management expertise of the participants. Currently in its third consecutive session, KWIH senior management training typically consists of three components: crossregional sharing, seminars and site visits. The Participants visited K. Wah's "Azure" and other similar projects undertaken by other property developers. Through careful observation and study of the features of these development projects, such as the architecture, views, mechanical and electrical installations and fitting, it will help to improve the quality K. Wah's product.

KWIH Shanghai staff accepted a 1.5 day media training to enrich their understanding of media landscape, crisis management and social media as well as enhances their media handling skills. Some of the participants put what they had learnt into practice through mock interviews. They reviewed their own performance from video playback and received valuable feedback from veteran trainers. By combining theory and practice, the workshop laid a solid foundation for the brand building of the company.
 

KWAH invited staff from its four core businesses to compete in the "K. Wah Master Chef 2016"

On 9 April, K. Wah Group invited staff with cooking talents from its four core businesses to compete in the "K. Wah Master Chef 2016". Three teams from each business gathered to show their true form, contestant teams spared no efforts to demonstrate their superior creativity and unrivalled team spirits to create wonderfully unique dishes. Finally, our heavyweighted judge panel decided the team "Michelin Number One" from KWCM won the prestigious honour of the inaugural "K. Wah Master Chef ".

Wah Training and Recreation Centre during lunch time on 13 and 14 October 2016. 40 participants utilized their creativity to make unique floral decorations which brightened up the workplace!

KWIH Shanghai staff participated in the "KWIH Fun Sports Day 2016" on 29 October 2016, showing much enthusiasm. Eight individual and group races were held, including ball games, cycling, rope skipping and tug of war, so as to test the contestants' physical fitness and teamwork. Such an exciting activity provided colleagues with a platform to demonstrate their talent, build friendship and strengthen their perseverance. It was concluded with a prize presentation by the management and group photo taking. The activity successfully enriched the staff's spare time, promoted the importance of exercise, as well as enhanced mutual trust among the team.

KWIH organized a seminar about fine decoration on 17 April 2015 to stimulate innovative ideas is one of those initiatives. The seminar offered an overview on fine decoration workflow and the future development of residential design, which helps KWIH to set even higher standard in their properties' decoration quality in different regions. On the same day, staff of KWIH Shanghai conducted a site visit to a top-notch property project in Changzhou of Jiangsu Province to further enhance relevant knowledge of fine decoration.

KWIH introduces the People Development Programme to enhance management capability of staff in an all-rounded manner. During 9-10 July 2014, KWIH and the School of Management of Fudan University jointly organized an Advanced Management Programme on Property Industry. Through the analysis of macro-economy, policies on property sector as well as the opportunities and challenges arising from urbanization in Mainland China, the course offered an overview on the development outlook of the property industry. Besides, views were exchanged to map out the future strategy of KWIH, aided by the comparison of the operations and strategies of various property developers. Nearly 50 members of the management from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shanghai offices attended the two-day workshop, followed by tours to various property projects in Shanghai.

KWIH initiated a team-building workshop on 14 December 2013, and 90 managerial grade staff from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Dongguan offices came along to participate. The participants were then teamed up for group discussion and made lots of suggestions on different business operations. The K. Wah Group Training and Recreational Centre was officially opened in September 2010 as an interactive platform that facilitates learning and leisure. A variety of training and hobby courses were offered, to name a few, property management training programme, snowy mooncake class, Mid-Autumn festival gala, yoga class, creative drawing workshop, happy fruit day, CNY daffodil planting class.
